Meet our Teachers

"A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind,

Darcy Criddle

Darcy completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Psychology from the University of Regina in 1998.  Her career began in working with adults with developmental disabilities in Regina, before relocating to Calgary in 2000 with her husband. By the mid 2000s, Darcy took a break to be a stay at home mom to her two sons, and was an active fixture as a volunteer in their schools. Her younger son had the privilege of attending Serendipity in 2010/2011 when her family moved to Okotoks from Calgary. She resumed her career by providing employment consulting support for persons with disabilities, and for the last three years has worked for Cause and Effect Foundation as a Child Development Facilitator. It brings her great joy working with the preschool children and enjoys learning about their experiences and how they view the world.  Darcy looks forward to teaching your kids and getting to know their families. Darcy is an Early Childhood Level 1 Educator.

LeAnne Kostyk

I started with Serendipity in the fall of 2015 and hold an Early Childhood Education and Development Certificate (Level 2).  I have always had an interest in working with children.  In my previous career, I was a Registered Dental Assistant and started in Public Health, working with children.    When my twin daughters were 3, they attended Serendipity, and I loved what Serendipity had to offer and how caring the teaching staff was.  The philosophy of learning through play was what I liked most about the program, and I use this philosophy when planning for classes. While volunteering in my daughter's classrooms, I realized I love working with young children, so I decided it was time to change my career and make a difference in the development of young children.  I find the 3 to 5 year old's so much fun to work with because they make you laugh with their expressions and stories and warm your heart with their bright smiles and laughter.  I feel fortunate to work with great children, families and  amazing coworkers.
