About Us

History and Philosophy
Serendipity Pre-Kindergarten is a proudly parent-run, non-profit preschool dedicated to both our students and our community. We have been in the business for over 45 years.
Our program is based on ‘learning through play’ concept. Children learn through a process of sensory experiences: they hear, feel, see, smell and taste. Our creative play philosophy is based on the premise that the more our emotions are involved, the more sensory information we receive, the more easily learning takes place. That is why play is important and why we want to promote the principle of learning by doing, learning through play, and the right of a child to enjoy childhood.
Our facility is fully licensed through Alberta Government and follows their regulations and standards.
Handbook & Daily Routine
Please see the 2 documents to learn more about our preschool and the daily routine.
Board of Directors
As a non-profit society we are managed completely by a volunteer Board of Directors voted in each year my the members. Please feel free to contact our board members regarding any questions or concerns you have regarding the school or the program. Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering on the Board.
Parental Involvement
It gives a true sense of community to be involved in your child's education. You can become involved (not mandatory) by; volunteering for the Board of Directors.
If COVID restrictions are lifted later in the school year you can also help out as a guest speaker, or visiting on your child's special day (police check mandatory) - all build a healthy and happy attitude for a first school experience.

Snack Program:
Each Family will provide a snack for their child each school day. We ask that snacks are healthy and just enough food to snack on. A water bottle is a great addition to your child's snack. Please make sure all containers and water bottles have your child's name on them.
You can order labels through Mabel Labels under our Serendipity Fundraiser.
Your child's “special day" gives the 'special guest' an opportunity to see and participate in the day. You (or another adult) are invited to join your child on this day (not mandatory but a special treat for your child). Those who attend must have had a criminal record check completed and a copy provided to the school.
